TextMeshes does not look sharp
« on: January 30, 2013, 11:46:14 pm »
Hello,

We bought 2DToolKit a day ago and we are trying to use the TextMesh to display text in a normal game object.

However, the text mesh looks really crap (pixelated) in the Editor, same on the iPad.

1. We are not using t2k Camera
2. We followed official font creation to make the font ( here)

Anyone have an idea what we are doing wrong?

It depends on what your texture looks like. Is it compressed? If it is, there should be a warning in the font saying that your font is going to look bad and you should change it to truecolor / 16bit.

You can work out whats going on by creating a box, and then dragging your font texture to it. If its the texture, then it'll look bad in there too. And if it is the texture, you should fix it as mentioned above, either manually or through the font interface.

It was compressed so when I imported it we chose the "truecolor" option.

It did help, now the other problem we have is because of the stroke that was present in the font...
I guess that will be another problem not handled by 2dToolKit due to the resizing.

What stroke is that? I'm not exactly sure what you're talking about here.
