tk2d camera for dummies like me
« on: November 10, 2013, 11:12:49 am »
For the totaly inexperienced like me,  setting the camera up for multiple screen sizes is a major headache, seeing more or less the same question being asked over and over.
i just spend over a day trying to figure it out and here's my findings, that might help out other people for a basic setup (correct me where I'm wrong please)

This setup seems to work and would be the X1size, the full image below is the game "background image" where the green area is the area that is visible on every aspect ratio, the white in the blue rectangle is the part of the background that is seen when the aspect ratio is 4:3 the white in the red rectangle is the part of the background that is seen with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Tk2d camera native resolution setup 480*320 force resolution unchecked)
and default override

am i correct to assume this will work on every device?

Fit visible (the current default, I believe) will do pretty much what you've drawn there. It will also display 960x640 within the green region. It will pretty much work with any device.
